North Stars 2014 Academy
The North Stars Hockey Academy offers a complete program that includes the game and situational education, elite on-ice hockey development, off-ice strength and conditioning, mental training, nutritional wellness, and team and personal development.
This division will be FULL ICE HOCKEY the entire season.
Program Overview

Focus on high-end individual and Team development

30 Week Program September – March

75+ Hours of on-ice development
-
20+ hours of specific Power Skating, Shooting and Hockey training with outside paid professionals
-
14+ hours of specific Formal goalie instruction throughout the season from qualified goalie instructor
-
36 games consisting of 9 Showcase weekends
-
Games will be full ice all Season
-
1.5 hour long games, periods will be 15-20-20 stopped time
-
Games ending in ties will include a 3 player shootout (time permitting)

Certified and experienced coaching staff are all former elite hockey players or professionals

2014 COACHING STAFF
Ryan Keeley
Head Coach
Ryan has spent years in the hockey community with time as an elite level prospect player in British Columbia and transitioned to coaching elite level youth hockey for the past five years. Ryan’s vision as a coach is to develop young talent while fostering a love and respect for the game. He is known as a players coach who emphasizes communication and strong team chemistry as a key to team success. Over the past three seasons (winter and spring) Ryan has led the elite 2015 division in the Central Alberta region. He has led them in both league and tournament play finishing in the top quartile in both league and tournament standings with a third place finish in 2024 in a higher age division.
Ryan’s practices are up-tempo and blend skill development, systems and puck movement which are age appropriate skill levels for this particular age group. He believes development and continuous improvement are the ultimate goal of any successful team. Ryan feels strongly that his vision is clearly aligned with the North Stars Organization of development, team work and ultimately winning.
